Forest insect pollination ecosystem services and climate change: A review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Global warming has been predicted to cause big changes in terrestrial natural ecosystems and processes. Forests, being a part of ecosystems, help the regulation biogeochemical processes functions. Insect pollination is one function that useful forest ecosystem as well associated agroecosystems. Climate change thought be principal factor can influence activities, distribution, abundance insect pollinators dwelling forest. Overall, elevated temperature level could affect present forests. The paper reviews possible impact climate on services provided by forests, highlighting importance forest, dependence linked agro-ecosystems various indicators with species finally concludes some key recommendations for conservation respect change.

Climate change, biotic interactions and ecosystem services.

Climate change is real. The wrangling debates are over, and we now need to move onto a predictive ecology that will allow managers of landscapes and policy makers to adapt to the likely changes in biodiversity over the coming decades. There is ample evidence that ecological responses are already occurring at the individual species (population) level. The challenge is how to synthesize the growi...

Coupling of pollination services and coffee suitability under climate change.

Climate change will cause geographic range shifts for pollinators and major crops, with global implications for food security and rural livelihoods. However, little is known about the potential for coupled impacts of climate change on pollinators and crops. Coffee production exemplifies this issue, because large losses in areas suitable for coffee production have been projected due to climate c...

Climate change mitigation and ecosystem services: A stochastic analysis

Degradation of ecosystem services may be a major component of climate change damage, and incorporation of this factor could significantly alter the significance of uncertainty in climate-economy modeling. However, this aspect has been little investigated by economic analyses of climate change and uncertainty. We apply standardized numerical techniques of stochastic optimization to this research...

Potential climate change impacts on temperate forest ecosystem processes

Large changes in atmospheric CO2, temperature, and precipitation are predicted by 2100, yet the long-term consequences for carbon (C), water, and nitrogen (N) cycling in forests are poorly understood. We applied the PnET-CN ecosystem model to compare the long-term effects of changing climate and atmospheric CO2 on productivity, evapotranspiration, runoff, and net nitrogen mineralization in curr...
